Install scqceval

You may install and update the scqceval package using gsm [1] or by unpacking a package file which you need to download first. Our preferred installation path works with gsm.

• Installation using gsm:

  First time only (works also for SeisComP and all other gempa modules):

  1. Get and install gsm [1] as outlined in the gsm documentation .

  2. Set up gsm as outlined in the gsm documentation .

  Regular scqceval installation and update:

  cd $HOME/install/gsm
  ./gsm update
  ./gsm install scqceval
  

• Unpacking the scqceval package file (not recommended):

  1. Download the scqceval package TAR balls from our package server. The server address and login credentials will be communicated with you. The file name will take a structure like scqceval-<version>-seiscomp-<SC version>-<OS>-<OS version>-<architecture>.tar.gz. The downloaded file must match your current version of SeisComP and your operating system.

  2. Unpack the file and extract the package it into your SeisComP installation, e.g.:

     cd $SEISCOMP_ROOT/..
     tar zxvf scqceval-<version>-seiscomp-<SC version>-<OS>-<OS version>-<architecture>.tar.gz
     

Note

• The novelties of installed package are summarized in the changelog.

• While gsm [1] takes care of cleaning up the installation from obsolete files, installation by unpacking does not and such obsolete files may accumulate over time.

Install dependencies

scqceval requires no further software dependencies to be installed other than those for SeisComP.
