- IIR¶
Infinite Impulse Response. See: Wikipedia - IIR.
- Incident¶
The term event is used in SeisComP and the term incident in TOAST context. An event object contains data related to a seismic event, like origins, magnitudes, focal mechanisms, type and also preferred origin, preferred magnitude and preferred focal mechanism. An incident is the main object when using TOAST. It contains tsunami relevant data like source parameters (magnitude, location, depth, time, nodal planes), observed tsunami data (picks, amplitudes) and simulation references. It can also contain a reference to a SeisComP event object, which is the case for automatically generated incidents. If an artificial incident is created manually, it does not contain an event reference.
- Kagan angle¶
Represents the difference between the orientation of two focal mechanisms (moment tensors). See: Y. Y. Kagan, 3-D rotation of double-couple earthquake sources, Geophysical Journal International, Volume 106, Issue 3, September 1991. In TOAST usually the term rotation Angle is used, both for the minimum rotation angle between focal mechanisms as well between nodal planes, in which case an adapted version of the Kagan angle is computed.
